Police investigate early morning shooting in Manchester

MANCHESTER –– Local law enforcement are investigating a shooting that occurred in the early morning hours of August 6, on Laurel Street.

The Manchester Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation at about 4:15 a.m. near the 176 Laurel Street area.

Upon arriving, officers spoke with a witness who reported hearing multiple gunshots.

The witness also spotted a male suspect fleeing the scene, running in the direction of Maple Street.

Another witness reported hearing a car speed off shortly after the gunshots.

While no injuries were reported, police found multiple shell casings scattered on the sidewalk, indicating the presence of a firearm.
