Pedestrian hit by vehicle in St. Johnsbury

ST. JOHNSBURY — A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in St. Johnsbury today.

The crash took place on Pierce Road, near the intersection of Field and Stream Road, at around 2:45 p.m.

Police say the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, which did not stop.

The pedestrian was identified as Joshua Petelle, 36, of St. Johnsbury.

Petelle was brought to Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St Johnsbury for treatment of injuries.

Police say the vehicle is a blue Subaru Outback with very dark rear tinted windows, slightly tinted front windows, and a roof rack.

The Subaru is suspected to be a newer model year, with unknown Vermont registration plates.
