Vehicle theft in Topsham prompts police search

TOPSHAM –– Vermont State Police in St. Johnsbury are investigating a vehicle theft that occurred between the evening of Aug. 4 and the early morning of Aug. 5, at 52 Spooner Road in Topsham.

The victim, 57-year-old Mathew Wadsworth of Topsham, reported his white 2017 Toyota Tacoma, with Vermont registration 282A124, stolen from his residential driveway.

The truck is easily recognizable with red “Trump For America” decals on both sides, chrome wheels, 33″ tires, and an assortment of stickers on the rear.

The suspect or suspects remain unknown at this time.

Trooper Evan Johnson from the St. Johnsbury Barracks is leading the investigation and urges anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the vehicle to contact him at 802-748-3111.

The Vermont State Police continue to remind residents to secure their vehicles and report any suspicious activities in their neighborhoods.
