Honda Civic driver killed in head-on collision in Nashua

NASHUA — A motor vehicle accident on Amherst Street left one dead and several injured on August 5, 2023, at 2:36 p.m.

Officers responded to a report of an accident with injury near 426 Amherst Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a Honda Civic and a Jeep Wrangler had collided head-on in the eastbound lane.

The Honda Civic’s driver was declared dead on the scene by ambulance personnel due to the injuries sustained in the crash.

The passenger from the Civic and all occupants from the Jeep Wrangler were transported to local hospitals for further medical treatment.

Preliminary investigations, based on witness statements and physical evidence, suggest the Honda Civic had crossed over the median on Amherst Street, driving into oncoming traffic before striking the Jeep Wrangler.

Detectives, in conjunction with the Nashua Police Department Accident Reconstruction Unit, are furthering the investigation into the crash’s cause, which remains undetermined at this time.
