Man arrested for assault in Clarendon

CLARENDON — A 38-year-old man from Grand Isle was arrested following an incident in Clarendon yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a domestic assault on Walker Mountain Road at around 9:00 p.m.

Police allege that Anthony J. Savard had recklessly caused pain and injury to a domestic partner and had violated numerous court-ordered conditions of release.

Savard was taken into custody and began attempting to assault troopers on the scene.

He was transported to the Rutland barracks for processing.

Savard was lodged at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility and cited to appear in court to answer for the charges of 1st degree aggravated domestic assault, 2nd degree aggravated domestic assault, violation of conditions x4, interference to access of emergency services, resisting assault.
