Missing New York man last seen in Killington

KILLINGTON — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a 67-year-old man who was last seen in Killington.

Robert Kerker, of Rhinebeck, NY, was reported overdue by his family to the National Park Service on July 24.

The Vermont State Police was contacted on the evening of July 24 to assist with locating Kerker.

Kerker is hiking the northern half of the Appalachian Trail, and his intended direction of travel was north on the Appalachian Trail.

He was checking in with family weekly, which he has not done since July 9.

Kerker is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 150 pounds, and has short white hair and a beard.

He goes by the trail name of “Steady Eddie.”

Anyone with information regarding his location is asked to call the Vermont State Police in Middlebury at 802-388-4784.
