Man arrested for assault in Huntington

HUNTINGTON — A 23-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Huntington yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a family fight from a home on Bridge Street at around 11:10 a.m.

Police allege that Nicholas George, of Huntington, caused bodily injury to a family member in the presence of a child.

Police also say that George attempted to prevent the family member from contacting law enforcement and shortly after caused damage to the family member’s cell phone.

He was located and placed under arrest.

He was transported to the Vermont State Police Williston barracks and later lodged at Northwest State Correctional Facility.

He faces charges of domestic assault, offense committed with the presence of a child, interference with access to emergency services, and unlawful mischief.
