Colchester man arrested for shooting firearm on Route 14 in Royalton

ROYALTON — A Colchester man was arrested in Royalton for walking in traffic and shooting a firearm, according to a report by Vermont State Police.

On July 20, at 5:18 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a man recklessly endangering motorists while walking along Route 14.

The man, later identified as 44-year-old Steven M. Foster of Colchester, was located on Shurlock Road in possession of the firearm.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that Foster is legally prohibited from owning a firearm.

Foster was promptly arrested and now faces charges of reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and possession of a firearm as a prohibited person.

The investigation into the incident continues.
