Convicted felon arrested on firearm, theft charges in Nashua

NASHUA — The Nashua Police Department arrested 50-year-old Anthony Rice on a felony arrest warrant for being a Convicted Felon in possession of a firearm.

On May 10, 2023, officers were called to a private residence in Nashua in response to a reported theft of a firearm and ammunition.

Detectives continued their investigation and identified Rice as the person responsible for the theft. It was determined that Rice, as a convicted felon, was prohibited from being in possession of a deadly weapon.

An arrest warrant was obtained and granted for Rice, charging him with being a Convicted Felon in possession of a firearm, a Class B Felony. Rice was also charged with Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer of a Firearm, a Class A Felony, and Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer, a Class A Misdemeanor.

Rice was released on $1,000.00 cash bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-Southern District on August 3, 2023.
