Orwell man wanted in New Hampshire arrested

SHELBURNE — A 42-year-old man from Orwell was arrested following an incident in Shelburne early this morning.

Police say they initiated a traffic stop after an observed violation near the intersection of US Route 7 and Bostwick Road at around 1:25 a.m.

Over the course of the traffic stop, Eric Oak was identified to have an extraditable warrant out of New Hampshire for the offense of failure to appear.

State police confirmed the warrant with the New Hampshire Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department and identified the original charges of theft by deception, and theft by deception.

Oak was transported to the Williston State Police barracks for processing and was released with a citation to appear in court.
