Montpelier altercation results in four charges, one hospitalized

MONTPELIER — An early morning fight on May 24 involving a moving vehicle and an individual dragged down Cummings Street has led to the arrest of four people.

Destiney Roberts, 19, of Montpelier, has been accused of driving her vehicle with an individual on the roof, engaging in an altercation with her front-seat passenger, who was leaning out of the vehicle’s window.

During the altercation, both the roof rider and the passenger fell from the moving vehicle.

Roberts’ passenger also reportedly suffered injuries after allegedly being assaulted by bystanders following their fall.

Roberts was issued a citation for grossly negligent operation of a vehicle, a felony, and recklessly endangering another person, a misdemeanor. She is due to appear in the Washington County Superior Court, Criminal Division.

The passenger, identified as Lillian Parker, 21, also faces a misdemeanor charge of recklessly endangering another person.

Two additional individuals, Mariah Boardman, 25, and Taylor Boardman, 24, were charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, for their alleged roles in the incident.

The victim who fell from the roof was seriously injured and has been transported to the hospital for treatment. The Montpelier Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
