HUNTINGTON — A 67-year-old man from Huntington died in a single-vehicle accident on Main Road, local authorities confirmed Sunday.

David Santos was traveling north on Main Road around 5:57 p.m. on June 18 when his vehicle crossed the southbound lane and went off the shoulder, Vermont State Police said.

His 2012 Fiat 500 ended up in a river where it came to a final rest.

Santos was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road conditions were dry at the time of the accident and the weather was reported to be cloudy. Santos’s vehicle was totaled in the crash.

The exact cause of why the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and off the shoulder is still under investigation.

State police are asking anyone with information about the accident to come forward.
