Police looking for driver who ran family off the road in Concord

CONCORD — Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a driver who hit a family in Concord.

The incident took place on US Route 2 and Mattingly Lane, in the area of Miles Pond, at around 1:05 a.m.

The victims, who were calling as they were trapped inside their vehicle, told police that they had been struck from behind by a vehicle traveling in the same direction at a high rate of speed, which rammed them off the road down an embankment.

Police say the suspect vehicle did not stop and fled the scene.

The victims, a family of 3 and a dog, suffered minor injuries.

The vehicle is described as a white, older model, mid-2000s, pickup truck, unknown make/model.

Police say the truck is heavy duty, possibly a work truck, with a back rack.
