Topsham woman arrested for aggravated domestic assault among other charges

TOPSHAM — A physical altercation at a residence in Topsham led to the arrest of a local woman late Monday evening, according to the Vermont State Police.

Brigette Elliot, 35, of Topsham, is accused of committing first degree aggravated domestic assault, reckless endangerment, and aggravated disorderly conduct.

When officers attempted to apprehend her, Elliot reportedly resisted arrest.

The identity of the victim, as per Vermont State Police policy, has not been released due to the nature of the crimes.

This policy protects the identities of victims of sexual assault or domestic violence to uphold their privacy rights and prevent further harm.

Elliot is due to appear in the Orange County Superior Court today.
