FAIR HAVEN — Police in Fair Haven are working with authorities in New York in the search for a wanted man, identified as Michael D. Darling.

He is considered armed and dangerous, and the public is urged to use caution and avoid direct contact with him.

Darling is described as a white male standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds. He has blue eyes and gray hair.

His last known address is listed in Gloversville, NY.

Darling is wanted by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office on several charges, including murder in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon, and two counts of tampering with physical evidence.

As a part of their ongoing investigation, police have issued a public plea for information.

Anyone with knowledge regarding Darling’s current whereabouts is strongly encouraged to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at 518-853-5500.

Given the severity of the charges and the potential danger posed by the accused, citizens are urged not to attempt to apprehend or confront the suspect themselves.

Instead, they should alert local law enforcement immediately if they encounter or sight Darling.

Fair Haven police have not said what his connection to the area is, but shared his wanted status and information on social media on Saturday afternoon.
