School bus crash in Westford results in injuries for a student

WESTFORD — A single-vehicle crash involving a school bus in Westford, led to minor injuries for one student, according to the Vermont State Police.

The incident occurred today at around 3:07 p.m. on Old Stage Road, near the cross street of Woods Hollow Road.

The operator of the school bus, Glen Gunelic, 68, from Essex, was traveling northbound on Old Stage Road transporting 13 students home from school.

Distractions from the students and sun glare contributed to the bus failing to maintain its lane and veering off the roadway.

One student was transported from the scene for suspected minor injuries.

No other injuries were reported, and the bus sustained minor damage.

The incident is still under investigation.

Essex Fire Department, Essex Rescue, Fairfax Rescue, and McRae Towing & Auto Service provided assistance at the scene.
