NASHUA — A Nashua man was arrested on three misdemeanor charges after threatening an employee of an apartment complex today.

Justin Spirko, 37, of Nashua, was charged with criminal threatening, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest/detention.

Officers responded to 31 Royal Crest Drive after receiving a report of a male tenant threatening an employee.

The victim told officers that Spirko threatened to light the building on fire after she approached him about playing his music too loud.

Spirko refused to exit the building and became uncooperative when officers made contact with him.

Members of the Crisis Negotiation Unit attempted to have Spirko peacefully surrender, but he continually refused to leave his apartment.

The Unmanned Aircraft Systems Unit and Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) were activated.

After several hours, Crisis Negotiators were able to talk Spirko into peacefully surrendering to members of SWAT, where he was placed under arrest.

Spirko was held on preventative detention and is scheduled to be arraigned at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court on May 23.

Anyone with further information regarding this case is asked to call the Nashua Police Department Crime Line at 603-589-1665.
