Rollover crash in Montpelier

MONTPELIER — A 65-year-old man from Worcester was arrested following a crash in Montpelier on Sunday.

Authorities say they were notified of a rollover crash on Barre Street at around 7:00 a.m.

According to the report, a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and in the opposing lane of travel, struck two oncoming vehicles and then a parked car, causing it to overturn.

The driver was processed for suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs on scene.

Barre Street was shut down for approximately an hour until the vehicle could be removed.

Police have not released the name of the driver at this time.

He was charged with careless and negligent operation and was arrested.

Police say further charges regarding driving under the influence drugs are pending the results of an evidentiary blood test.
