Man arrested in St. Johnsbury for possession of crack cocaine, firearm

ST. JOHNSBURY — A 24-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Caledonia on Tuesday.

Authorities say they were notified of a man asleep under the Portland Street bridge at around 7:15 a.m.

In the vehicle, Dakota McAllister, of Caledonia, was found sleeping.

On the center console of the vehicle was a baggy containing 21.9 grams of suspected crack cocaine.

Police say a consent search of the vehicle was performed and a 9mm handgun was also recovered.

McAllister was arrested, processed, and released on a citation to appear in court on June 26 to answer to the charges of possession of crack cocaine, possession of a firearm while committing a felony, and violation of conditions of release.
