SHEFFIELD — A Sheffield man has been arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on Blake Pond Road and Berry Hill Road on Thursday night.

The Vermont State Police responded to the scene at around 6:45 p.m., where they found a Cadillac sedan with heavy front-end damage in a ditch.

The operator, later identified as 60-year-old Christopher Coady, had left the scene and appeared to be intoxicated.

After assistance from the Lyndonville Police Department, Coady was located at his residence, where troopers detected indicators of impairment.

He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.
