Body of missing woman found in Nashua

NASHUA — The body of a missing 65-year-old woman was found in a New Hampshire river on Wednesday, according to the Nashua Police Department.

Cheryl Bernier was reported missing the previous day.

On May 4, members of the Nashua Police Department’s Dive Unit and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Unit searched the shorelines of the Nashua and Merrimack Rivers and discovered the body of a person at around 3:40 p.m.

Bernier’s body was removed from the river with assistance from Nashua Fire Rescue.

Detectives responded to the scene and furthered the investigation.

At this time, police say the death does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
