Police apprehend sex offender with nationwide warrant in Morgan

MORGAN — Vermont State Police have arrested Thomas Mullins, 53, of Morgan, on suspicion of violating Vermont’s sex offender registry and for having a warrant for his arrest from the state of Florida.

Troopers say today they located and arrested Mullins after a motor vehicle stop on VT-111 in Morgan.

Mullins was under investigation for suspicion of living in Morgan while being a convicted sex offender from Connecticut and failing to register in Vermont.

Mullins was also the subject of a nationwide extradition warrant from the state of Florida for multiple counts of “sexual battery victim less than 12.”

He was taken into custody without incident and processed at the VSP-Derby Barracks.

He was ordered to be held without bail until arraignment and lodged at the Northern State Correctional Facility.
