Man arrested for armed robbery, drugs in Richmond

RICHMOND — A man from New York was arrested in Richmond on April 26.

Authorities say they were notified of an armed robbery that occurred on West Main Street at around 4:00 p.m.

The victim told police that a gun had been held to her neck.

Police located the vehicle at around 6:00 p.m.

Police say the suspect attempted to elude them when they attempted to stop the vehicle.

Winooski Officers pursued the vehicle, with the pursuit ending at the Days Inn in Colchester.

The driver was arrested without further incident.

Police say a loaded firearm was recovered at the time of the arrest, which was found to be stolen from Burlington.

The driver, identified as Tashawn R Ware, of Brooklyn, NY, was held without out bail for assault and robbery with a deadly weapon.

On April 27, police executed a search warrant on the vehicle involved.

This search yielded approximately 1.13 pounds of Marijuana, 56.77 grams of bulk suspected Cocaine, 38.53 grams of bulk suspected Fentanyl, as well as 624 bags of suspected Fentanyl, 0.4 grams of suspected crack cocaine, an additional loaded firearm, and $1,183 in U.S. currency.
