2 charged after shooting incident in Rutland

RUTLAND — Police say two people are facing charges following a shooting incident that took place in Rutland early yesterday morning.

Authorities were notified of a shooting in the first block of Water Street at around 5:00 a.m.

Police say they were able to detain the individuals believed to have fired the shots.

They also located firearms on the scene.

Detectives with the Bureau of Criminal Investigations responded to the scene to continue the investigation and collect and preserve physical evidence.

Initial investigation revealed unknown individuals committed an armed home invasion of a residence on Water Street.

The residents then began shooting in a reckless manner striking area structures.

There were minor injuries reported in this incident.

Detectives have charged Lisa M. White, 35, of Rutland, with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and false information to police.

Anthony Keefe, 20, of Rutland, is also charged with aggravated assault.

Police say both White and Keefe were ordered to be released on a citation to appear in court.

This incident is active and detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding it, police say.

Anyone with private surveillance cameras in the Water Street area are being asked to review them and if they captured anything suspicious, call detectives at 802-773-1816.
