NORFOLK — A 54-year-old man from Rhode Island was arrested following a crash in Norfolk yesterday.

The incident took place at a gas station on Rockwood Road at around 1:50 p.m.

Police say a box truck hit a traffic island, striking a gas pump, and then hit two motor vehicles and an aerial lift.

The box truck crashed through a fence before coming to a stop with two front tires dangling over a wall.

The Massachusetts State Police commercial enforcement team responded and assisted at the scene.

Following an investigation, police say they found probable cause to charge the driver of the truck, Keith Johnson, 54, of East Greenwich, RI, with operating under the influence of alcohol.

Johnson was transported to an area hospital and has since been treated and released.

He was then booked at the Norfolk Police Department.

He was arraigned today in Wrentham District Court and released on personal recognizance.

Police say Johnson was also cited for marked lanes violation, failure to wear a seatbelt, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
