Rutland man arrested for grand larceny

RUTLAND – Jorge Pena, 41, of Rutland, was arrested yesterday for aggravated operation without consent, grand larceny, false information to a police officer, and registering a motor vehicle for which the applicant is not the owner.

Pena was apprehended by troopers from the Vermont State Police – Rutland Barracks, who were investigating the theft of a motor vehicle in Rutland Town on April 2.

According to the police report, Pena operated the vehicle without the owner’s consent, registered it in his own name, and knowingly provided false information to law enforcement officers.

Pena was processed at the Rutland Barracks and later released on a citation for a later date and time.

The Vermont State Police reminds the public to report any suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.
