Manchester man arrested for attempted arson

MANCHESTER – A Manchester man has been arrested and charged with attempted arson after police responded to a report of a man attempting to light a vehicle on fire.

According to Manchester Police, on April 11, they received a call reporting a man dressed in trash bags pouring liquid on the windshield and tires of a vehicle and attempting to ignite it with a small lighter.

Another witness reported seeing the man throw a bag into a nearby dumpster.

Police located the bag containing gloves, trash bags, and a windshield wiper fluid container. Surveillance video captured the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Robinson Loubriel Resto of Manchester, wearing trash bags over his head and upper body and carrying a plastic jug that matched the description of the container in the bag.

Resto was charged with two counts of attempted arson and falsifying evidence.

Further details about the incident have yet to be released by authorities.
