RUTLAND — A 33-year-old man is wanted by police following an incident in Rutland last week.

Authorities say they were notified of a family fight on Cleveland Avenue at around 4:20 p.m. on April 11.

Police say the victim was reporting that Philip Newton, of Rutland, showed up at a home she was in, punched her in the face, and threatened to kill her.

Police say that Newton was a person who willfully and recklessly caused bodily injury to an ex-partner, and also has a prior conviction for domestic assault.

Newton left the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

Corporal Tavares requested an arrest warrant be issued for Newton for the charge of second-degree aggravated domestic assault.

If you have information regarding the whereabouts of Newton, you are asked to contact the Rutland City Police Department.
