Dartmouth, MA police Investigating hate crime at basketball facility

DARTMOUTH – The Dartmouth Police Department is investigating a hate crime at a basketball facility in Massachusetts.

Officers responded to the Burgo Basketball Association facility on Saturday, April 15 at approximately 5:00 p.m. after a derogatory term was found spray-painted on a dumpster.

“We are extremely discouraged and upset by this egregious and heinous act of vandalism,” said Chief of Police Brian P. Levesque in a statement. “It is certainly the hope of every member of the Dartmouth Police Department that if someone has information that can help us identify a suspect that they will immediately come forward with it.”

The department is requesting assistance from the public in identifying a suspect.

As of now, there are no suspects in the case.
