Man arrested on warrant during welfare check in Newbury

NEWBURY — Vermont State Police arrested a 34-year-old man on an active warrant during a welfare check at a residence in Newbury today.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to the call at around 3:25 p.m.

Police discovered that Cody Sherman, of Newbury, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

He was subsequently transported to the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility.

The incident took place on Leete Hill Road.

No further details have been released at this time.
