Body found in Merrimack River, Nashua

NASHUA — The Nashua Police Department responded to a report of a body in the Merrimack River on Monday this morning.

A witness on a boat reported seeing a body face down in the river at 11:20 a.m.

Officers arrived in the area and confirmed the person was deceased.

The deceased person was removed from the river by the NH Marine Patrol and the Nashua Police Dive Unit.

Detectives were notified and will be furthering the investigation.

There were no obvious signs of foul play, and efforts to identify the body will be coordinated with the New Hampshire Medical Examiners’ Office.
