Arrest made after Subway robbery in Bennington

BENNINGTON – A suspect has been arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot an employee at a Subway restaurant in North Bennington and fleeing the scene with $220 in cash.

Officials identified the suspect as 33-year-old Carren Cameron, of Bennington.

Cameron allegedly demanded cash from the employee at around 9:40 p.m. yesterday while pointing an object from their jacket pocket.

Police later caught up to Cameron in the area, who managed to escape.

However, authorities eventually apprehended Cameron at a home on Depot Street.

According to officials, Cameron had an active arrest warrant for Violation of Probation from last July.

Cameron was held at the Bennington Police Department and was arraigned on Wednesday afternoon for both the outstanding warrant as well as for assault, robbery and providing false information.
