Rutland man arrested for breaking into cars

RUTLAND – A West Rutland man was arrested early this morning for petit larceny after breaking into vehicles in the area of Colonial Drive in the Town of Rutland.

According to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks, troopers responded to a complaint of a male breaking into vehicles at approximately 2:57 a.m.

Zachary Lapoint, 33, was located nearby and found to be in possession of stolen items.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks.

Lapoint was ultimately cited to appear at Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division on May 22.
