MONTPELIER — A driver is facing charges following a single vehicle crash on US Route 2 in East Montpelier.
According to authorities, the vehicle was found down an embankment and abandoned.
Investigation revealed the vehicle damaged a highway marker post when it went off the roadway.
The operator of the vehicle was later identified as Jeremy Maxfield, 23 of Cabot.
Maxfield was issued a citation for Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
No injuries were reported, and the vehicle sustained minor undercarriage damage.
The crash occurred on March 18, at approximately 12:02 a.m.
Weather conditions at the time of the crash were cloudy, and road conditions were dry.
The Vermont State Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
