MIDDLESEX — The body of a missing woman was recovered by the Vermont State Police Underwater Recovery Team in the Winooski River in Middlesex, officials said.

Anne Dillon, 64, of Waitsfield, was reported missing on Wednesday, and her car was found near the Vermont Route 100B bridge over the river.

Evidence found at the scene indicated she may have jumped into the river, according to the Vermont State Police.

Her body will be transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

There is currently no indication that the death is suspicious, police said.
