Man arrested for forgery and theft by deception in Nashua

NASHUA — Christopher Brooks, 54, of Boston, was arrested yesterday and charged with Forgery and Theft by Deception in excess of $1500, according to the Nashua Police Department.

Brooks was arrested by members of the Boston Police Department while investigating an unrelated report of shoplifting.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation into the report of a fraudulent check cashing that occurred on January 21, 2022, at a local bank in Nashua, New Hampshire.

The suspect utilized a forged check and obtained in excess of $3,000 from the checking account of a local New Hampshire business.

Brooks was issued a $500 cash bail and will be held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections pending arraignment at the Hillsborough County Superior Court – South.

A Class A Felony is punishable by up to fifteen years of imprisonment, exclusive of fines and a Class B Felony is punishable by up to seven years of imprisonment, exclusive of fines.
