Huntington man charged with DUI #2 after single-vehicle crash

HUNTINGTON — Chad Lapointe, a 47-year-old resident of Huntington, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence following a single vehicle crash on Main Road and Carrington Road yesterday.

According to authorities, Lapointe failed to control his vehicle and drove off the roadway into an electrical pole.

Troopers from the Williston Barracks responded to the scene and identified Lapointe as the sole occupant and operator of the crashed vehicle.

While speaking with Lapointe, police observed several indicators of impairment and subsequently arrested him for suspicion of DUI.

No injuries were reported from the crash, and Lapointe was transported to the Williston Barracks for processing.

He was later issued a citation to answer to the charge of DUI #2.
