Marshfield man charged with making over a dozen false 911 calls

MARSHFIELD — The Vermont State Police have issued a citation to Anthony Russell, a 47-year-old resident of Marshfield, for violating court-ordered conditions of release and making false 911 calls.

On January 29, 2023, more than a dozen 911 calls were made to the police by Russell, which turned out to be false alarms.

Upon investigation, it was found that Russell was also in violation of court-ordered conditions of release.

The Vermont State Police have issued a citation to Russell to appear in Washington Superior Court – Criminal Division at a later date.

This incident has caused concern among the police as false alarms can lead to a waste of resources and time.

The police urge the public to use the 911 service responsibly and only in cases of emergency.
