STAMFORD — A 38-year-old woman from Burlington was arrested following an incident in Stamford today.

Authorities say they were notified of a vehicle off the road on East Road and Forgette Road at around 4:10 a.m.

Police say they located the vehicle in a snow bank with nobody around and the vehicle locked when they arrived.

During a search of the area, police say they located the woman, identified as Bridget C. O’Brien, walking on East Road.

Police say O’Brien refused to stop walking and while attempting to interact with her, turned around and punched a trooper in the cheek/chin area.

O’Brien was then taken into custody after a brief struggle.

Police say she displayed signs of impairment and was transported to the Shaftsbury State Police barracks and processed for the offenses of DUI #1, assault on a protected professional, and resisting arrest.
