Woodbury man charged for taking money for firewood, not delivering it

ALBANY — A 31-year-old man from Woodbury is facing charges following an incident that took place in Albany yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified by Robert Wihlidal, 77, of Albany, that he had paid for 2 cord of firewood but the firewood was never delivered.

Following an investigation, police allege that Joel Sargent had taken the money and did not deliver the firewood.

Sargent is due in court on March 28.

He is being charged with false pretense.
