Fugitive wanted by police picked up in Rutland

RUTLAND — A 29-year-old man from Reading was arrested in Rutland last month.

Police say they attempted to stop a vehicle for not having a front plate on Route 106 at around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 18.

Police say the driver, identified as Andrew D. Picknell Jr., initially refused to stop.

After a brief pursuit, Picknell stopped for police.

During their investigation, it was found that Picknell had 3 outstanding warrants.

One was extraditable out of the state of New Hampshire for possession of drugs, failure to appear, and 2 in-state Vermont warrants for failing to appear.

His license was also criminally suspended.

He was taken into custody and lodged at Southern State Correctional Facility.
