Man arrested after ransacking resturant in Nashua

NASHUA — A 52-year-old man from Merrimack, New Hampshire, is facing charges following an incident in Nashua yesterday.

Authorities say they were notified of a man who had forced his way into a closed restaurant on Amherst Street at around 11:45 a.m.

Police say the man was standing outside of the establishment and acting erratically when they arrived.

The suspect was identified as Steven Bennett.

During the course of the initial investigation, it was found that Bennett had forced his way through a locked front door of the closed establishment.

While inside, he proceeded to ransack the bar and seating area, which resulted in multiple items being damaged.

It was later found that Bennett had damaged a vehicle in the parking lot as well.

Police say Bennett was charged with burglary and criminal mischief.

He was released on personal recognizance and will be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court-Southern District on March 30.
