BENNINGTON — A 59-year-old man was cited for excessive speeding in Bennington today.
Police say they observed a vehicle traveling 96 miles-per-hour in a 55 miles-per-hour zone on Vermont Route 279 at around 7:15 p.m.
The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Kelly M. Coulter, of Bennington.
Coulter was issued a citation to appear in court on April 10 for the offense.
He was also issued a Vermont Civil Violation Complaint for the speeding offense.
