MANCHESTER — A 33-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Manchester last week.

On February 1, authorities say they were notified of a man threatening someone with a knife on Manchester Street.

The victim told police that he had dropped someone off and was backing out of a driveway when an unknown man approached his passenger side window and told him he had almost hit his dogs.

The victim said the man yelled at him and punched his window several times.

Police say when the man started throwing snow and ice at his van, the victim got out of the vehicle and tried to get the man to leave, at which point the man reportedly pulled out a knife and started waving it around.

During the altercation, the victim’s arm was cut.

On Tuesday, police identified the suspect as Matthew Garcia of Manchester.

Garcia was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.
