Manchester police looking for hit-and-run driver that left pedestrian seriously injured

MANCHESTER — Police are investigating a crash that took place in Manchester, New Hampshire early this morning.

Authorities were notified that a pedestrian was laying in the road on Union Street and Merrimack Street at around 6:25 a.m.

Police say the 35-year-old man from Manchester, NH, was laying in the road suffering from what appeared to be a potential serious head injury.

He was transported by American Medical Response to an area hospital for medical treatment.

Following an investigation, police say that the pedestrian had been struck by a motor vehicle while attempting to cross Union Street.

The motor vehicle involved in this collision fled the scene.

Through the assistance of area surveillance footage, police were able to obtain a photo of the suspect vehicle, which appears to be a dark-colored 4-door hatchback.

Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying and or locating the suspect vehicle involved in this collision.
