Woman arrested for assault in Montpelier

MONTPELIER — A 58-year-old woman was arrested following an incident in Montpelier last week.

Authorities say they were notified of a physical altercation occurring in the common area of a transitional housing facility on St. Paul Street at around 3:40 p.m. on January 2.

Police allege that one party assaulted the other.

The assailant had court-ordered conditions of release prohibiting them from engaging in threatening or violent behavior, police say.

Following an investigation, police say that the woman from Montpelier had committed the crime of domestic assault and violation of conditions of release.

Police have not released the name of the suspect at this time.
