Man arrested, unlawful restraint in Bethel

BETHEL — A 25-year-old man was arrested following an incident in Bethel this morning.

Authorities say they were notified to an address for a welfare check at around 7:40 a.m.

Police say they spoke with a woman who had been the victim of an aggravated domestic assault.

Troopers also determined the offender had interfered with her ability to contact the police for help.

Troopers located Weston Lunnie and arrested him during a traffic stop for the criminal violations listed above.

Weston was brought to Southern State Correctional Facility and held on $2,500 bail.

He was cited to appear in court today to answer to the charges of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, interference with access to emergency services, criminal threatening, first-degree unlawful restraint, disorderly conduct, and petit larceny.
