Rutland man charged with robbing two convenience stores

RUTLAND — A 32-year-old man is facing multiple charges following a robbery that took place in Rutland earlie this month.

Authorities say they were notified of a robbery that occurred at the Jolly Mart convenience store located on US Route 4 at around 8:30 p.m.

Following an investigation, police allege that a man entered the store, displayed a weapon, and demanded money from the cashier.

The man was given the money from the register and fled the area.

At around 10:00 p.m. a second robbery was reported at the Champlain Farms convenience store located on US Route 7 in Pittsford.

It was reported that a man entered the store and demanded money from the cashier.

Police say the man was given the money prior to fleeing the area in a truck.

Following an investigation, police identified the suspect as Brennan Bigelow, of Rutland.

Bigelow was issued a citation to appear in court for the charges of robbery and false reports.
