MONTPELIER — A 43-year-old man was arrested in Montpelier earlier this month.

On December 12, police say they initiated a traffic stop in the area of Memorial Drive at around 10:15 p.m.

The driver was observed to be impaired by alcohol and refused to participate in roadside testing.

When MPD officers attempted to arrest the operator for suspicion of driving under the influence, he became combative and actively resisted being taken into custody.

He was charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest.

Police have not released the name of the suspect at this time.
