WATERBURY — Police responded to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in Waterbury yesterday.

The crash took place in the area of South Main Street and River Road at around 10:40 a.m.

Police say that Jason Russell, 50, of Waterbury, and Jacob Durand, 25, also of Waterbury, identified themselves as the drivers involved.

Police say that Russell was operating on a criminally suspended driver’s license.

Police also say that based on witness statements and surveillance footage it was determined that Durand intentionally hit the vehicle driven by Russell after a verbal altercation occurred on River Road.

Russell was cited to appear in court to answer to the charge of driving license suspended on January 26.

Durand was taken into custody and transported to Berlin barracks for processing.

He was transported to Northwest Regional Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail.
